ADC sensor mounted to the wading rod

The ADC has been under developement and testing for well over a year and has met with great succes both in tow tank tests and in river testing.  The system consist of  a 6 MHz, two-beam coherent Doppler system mounted on a wading rod and a control and processing unit that is attached to the to of the staff.  Some novel elements are:

  • Pressure sensor mounted in the probe lets you determine the depth of the velocity measurements
  • Coherent processing for superior velocity data
  • Remote sampling of the velocity (10-15 cm upstream) provides accurate and precise measurements
  • Handheld processing unit har rechargeable batteries
  • Small and light combined with non-corroding materials (plastics and stainless)
